I have been wanted a dachshund puppy for awhile! if you know anyone who is giving or selling for a low price please let me know!! I also would like a miniature dachshund mixed with another small dogs. thanks!
I have a miniature dachshund and I think they are great dogs…good choice. However…please buy from a reputable breeder who cares about breeding good qualities, health and temperament. I would try checking out the national dachshund club….there may be a list of breeders and where they live so you can contact someone that breeds well.

I disagree with Clarisa…..this is why you need to be careful where you purchase a pure bred dog. Dachshunds are very popular right now and many back yard breeders and puppy mills are trying to make money…they will not breed for quality, but quantity and do not take temperament in consideration. My dachshund is VERY lovable and even though she isn't the easiest to train…she's trainable.

It really depends on where you live. You need to search the internet for good websites. You can buy them from people who will fly them to you, but usually it costs at least $400 for a purebred. My mom has four of them. For one she payed $600 as it is a black and white piebald and a bit rarer.

I'd try to find another small dog…not a dachshund. I've never had one, but I've known a few people who have, and they're not very good dogs. Really crazy/hyper, not loveable, and difficult to train…just my experience.

If your going to get a specific breed then go to a breeder and be prepared to wait and invest a few hundred dollars. A cheap purchase price usually turns into expensive vet bills
If what you want is a mutt, then go to the shelter. They're cute and cheap and you're saving a life.

great choice! dachshunds are great dogs. i'd look on petfinder.com. sorry, you'll probably have to change the location. try to get a rescue one and then you can save it's life. that's what i did! you won't regret it!!! =)
