I have a senior half Pit/Boxer female and we want to get a Dachshund puppy, can they get along and coexist?
Yes it's very possible. My 70lbs Catahoula Leopard Dog gets along great w/my 10lb Mini Doxie.

If your senior Pit/Boxer is dog friendly, yes.

If your dog is not agressive towards other dogs, and receives same amount of attention if you get another dog then yes.

Dachshund puppies are extremely active, boisterous, loud, and all mine have been stingy with food, treats, toys etc etc. If you think your senior dog would tolerate being mauled about constantly and climbed all over then they should get along fine. In my years of experience, Dachshunds will almost always try to dominate another dog. (They can't help it, they're German) Ask your breeder to recommend a calm, submissive puppy. If they are worth buying from they will know their litter quite well. If they let you just pick whatever puppy, don't ask any questions about YOUR situation, can't tell you about individual puppies temperaments then look to a different breeder.
